Bohun, Ralph. A Discourse Concerning the Origine and Properties of Wind. With a Historicall Account of Hurricanes, and Other Tempestuous Winds. Oxford: Printed by W. Hall for Tho. Bowman, 1671. 302 pp. This volume is bound in brown leather and the boards are stamped with a ruled border and corner ornaments. The endpapers are made from binder’s waste.


Botero, Giovanni. Relaciones Universales del Mundo de Juan Botero. . . Valladolid: Fernandez de Cordoua, 1603. 110 leaves. This large, quarto volume is bound with the original limp vellum, with ties. The vellum is somewhat discolored, although the volume is otherwise clean and in good condition.


Cohen, Myer M. Notices of Florida and the Campaigns. Charleston, 1836. 240 pp. This volume includes a frontispiece portrait of Indian Chief Osceloa and a folding map. The original cloth binding is re-backed.


Coxe, Daniel. A Description of the English Province of Carolana, by the Spaniards Call’d Florida, and by the French, La Louisiane. Viz. I. A Description of the Great and Famous River Meschacebe, or Missisipi [sic]... [London]: Printed for and sold by Olive Payne, 1741. 122 pp. plus folding map. This volume is bound in antique gilt calf with raised bands. An ornate gilt border on the front and rear covers and marbled endpapers and to the decorative features of this work.

London: T. Jefferys, 1762. 105 pp. This copy is rebound in modern half polished calf skin and lacks the original frontispiece map. This chart is replaced by a map of the West Indies from Adolf Stieler’s "Hand-Atlas. Neue Ausg. 1834.".

Eiusdem Praeterea Legationis Babylonicae Libri Tres . . . Basle: Joannes Bebelius, 1533. This volume of ninety-two leaves bear a title page vignette. The folio binding is eighteenth century gilt calf, expertly rebacked in uniform style, with spine gilt and raised bands. A few very minor contemporary marginal notes appear on the later leaves. This is a very handsome copy of an important rarity, with the bookplate of Lord Dinorben.

Robins, Benjamin. Observations On the Present Convention with Spain. London. 1739. 60 pp. This unusual work bears a calf backed binding with marbled boards, and a recent leather label. An armorial bookplate is located on the inside front cover.

This extraordinary letter bears a a horizontal crease repaired with tape. The text is written in a secretarial hand and boldly signed, "Th: Jefferson," on verso. The letter is housed in a blue, half morocco box.
