St Augustine Nov 25th, 1862

Dear Wife & Childers

In writing on Offical Business, I write on Government Paper; & send you another bit of a Check from Paymaster Geo O Brastow No. 112 for $45.00 also $5.00 in a letter of this date which makes $115.00 in all. and I hope you will get it in due season & that it will be the means of making you all comfortable for a time at least. I shall not promise you how much more I shall send, so you will not be disapointed There is no knowing when we shall be paid again & must keep some by me. I should not be surprised if we were ordered away from here soon, for active service; as I understand that Hunter is coming back to this Dept with 30,000 men, if so, it looks like work; & this Regt is getting on its legs again.

I will close for tonight think I will write another line in the morning

With Love to all C. Shedd
