Lieut Calvin Shedd

of the seventh Regt N.H. Vols having applied to me for a certificate on which to ground an application for Leave of Absence. I do hereby certify that I have carefully examined this Officer and find him suffering from Emaciation and Debility the result of Chronic Diarrhoea and Inflamation of the Bowells; and that in consequence thereof he is in My opinion unfit for duty or to travel. I further declare my belief that he will not be able to resume his duties in a less period of twenty days.

Dated at Enfield N.H. this seventh day of December One thousand eight hundred and sixty three
