Ayanna Jolivet Mccloud is a Miami-based visual/performing artist, writer, and arts administrator exploring metaphysical geographies and various intersections of culture, race, class, gender, and healing. She has participated in group and solo exhibitions in the U.S. Mexico, and Spain. Jolivet Mccloud has researched ritual and cultural production in Haiti, China, and Mexico. She utilizes various methods of mark-making and ritual to record the actions of the body. She is currently recording breath, heart rhythms, and other internal economies of the body. Born in Houston, Texas, Jolivet Mccloud received a BA in Visual and Critical Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
