Lieut Calvin Shedd

I do hereby certify that I have carefully examined this Officer and find him suffering from Emaciation and debility the result of Chronic Diarrhoea, and inflamation of bowells, and that in consequence thereof he is in my opinion unfit for duty or to travel. I furthermore declare my belief that he will not be able to resume his duties in a less period than twenty days Dated at Enfield N.H. this twenty Eighth day of December one thousand eight hundred and Sixty three
