3, '64. died Dec. 14, '87, Concord. Jonathan Folsom Cotton was a storekeeper and businessman in Dover at the outbreak of the war. He began recruiting for the army after disposing of his store. Cotton recruited the first company mustered into the Seventh Regiment and was commissioned captain of Company A. He remained the reigning captain of his company until ill health forced him to resign his commission in 1864. (pp. 482-484). |
