Santee, South Carolina - The first Ford Tri-Motor bought by Pan Am is again flying in the Pan American colors. N-9637, serial number 5-AT-11, was test-flown in December, 1928, and delivered to Pan Am the next month. After passing through many hands the old "Tin Goose" was purchased by Wings and Wheels of Santee, which has more than 40 antique planes. The Tri-Motor is avialable daily for hops over the South Carolina Santee-Cooper reservoir. Veteran Ford Pilot Jack Marshall flys it, and it is maintained by Bill Stoia, formerly with Pan Am in Miami."
