Sketch of the Southern part of Florida

Endicott, G. & W. (lithographers)

This map is a reproduction of the one in Sprague's Florida War book. It is a detailed account of the Second Seminole War written by John Sprague who fought the Indians in Florida and later was involved in the Civil War during his long and successful career as an army officer. He retired as a General.
The map shows the details of routes between various forts south of Lake Okeechobee as well as the east and west coasts and three routes through the Everglades. Topographical details are shown in the Big Cypress Swamp and Ten Thousand Islands area.
It is not clear who actually drew the map but the lithographers were in New York.
The description below the title gives the dates of 1841 and 1842.
