Title:

Le Vieux Mexique ou Nouvelle Espagne avec les Costes de la Floride

Cartographer:

de Fer, Nicolas (1646-1720)

Summary:

This map by Nicolas de Fer shows the area north of the Gulf of Mexico as Floride with the southwestern border extending to the Rio des Palmes at the northern border of Panuco Mexico. The peninsula of Florida is somewhat crooked which is characteristic of some of his other maps. The map does not extend very far north so we do not know what he thought of the other borders of Floride. There is a short mention of the ocean current just below the Mississippi delta.
