Project Description:
My project within the FLC program focuses on “learn while being tested”. In this context I design two online midterm examinations for my students. The online exams are comprised of random questions retrieved from a question database. There are a finite number of problems under each category covered by the examination. The numbers included in the text of the problems are assigned randomly by the online system. Each student takes the exam online with multiple attempts. If a student is not happy about the result of his/her grade from an exam he/she can take it again up to 10 attempts. Each time a different set of problems must be solved. The final grade for the exam is the average of the highest score achieved and the score from the latest attempt. The grading is automatically carried out by the online tool. To create these exams pools of questions and calculated formulas are used within the domain of the Blackboard System.
