Original works, first editions and correspondence by some of the great Cuban literary authors of the 19th and 20th centuries form part of the Cuban Heritage Collection. The manuscripts, correspondence, first editions, etc. of some of the most important authors from the 19th century, including José Martí, Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda, and Cirilo Villaverde, and 20th century authors Justo Rodríguez Santos, Dulce María Loynaz, Enrique Labrador Ruíz, Eugenio Florit, Gastón Baquero, Lydia Cabrera, and Ana Rosa Núñez are represented in the CHC.
